Frequently asked questions
How much does an IP paging system cost in New Zealand?
Installed cost depends mainly on the number of areas, available network cabling and the required emergency or intercom functions. As configuration examples, the current calculator produces $8,084 – $10,105 ex GST for the small-site preset and $17,792 – $22,240 ex GST for the medium multi-zone preset. These are indicative configurations rather than market averages or formal quotes.
What makes a paging system more expensive?
The biggest drivers are the number of areas and speakers, whether new network cabling must be run, large indoor or outdoor spaces that need multiple speakers, two-way intercom requirements, video entry intercoms, emergency interfaces and difficult site access.
Is network cabling included?
No. The calculator excludes site-wide structured cabling. It assumes only limited local connection work around device locations where suitable cabling already exists. Where wider cabling is required, that work needs to be scoped separately by an appropriate ICT/cabling contractor. For NZ state-school projects, confirm the current Ministry requirements for approved ICT installation contractors with the school property / IT team.
